In this 4-week series you'll learn the fundamentals of yoga in a warm, non-judgmental environment. Whether you've never set foot on a mat or even if you've explored a little bit but want to establish a good foundation - this is for you.
We'll take you through new ways of breathing and teach you basic alignment principles that will serve you as you develop your practice. We'll discuss the use of props, and ways to make adjustments to postures to accommodate injuries and physical challenges. And we'll also touch on some of the meditation techniques and philosophy behind yoga... and why it is such a healing practice for the mind, body and spirit.

Anne is our studio manager, the director of our Yoga Teacher Training program - Amalam School of Yoga at Outer Banks Yoga, and the heart & soul of the studio.
She has been practicing Yoga for more than 20 years. She began her journey in France when she was traveling often between Europe and Indonesia and felt she needed a nourishing practice that she could bring with her anywhere. After she moved to the US she pursued her 500-hour yoga teacher certification.
A beloved teacher, she leads a wide variety of classes. She is deeply attentive to the needs of her students, her gift being an intuitive ability to meet students precisely where they are. Her beginner and gentle classes are balanced with softness, relaxation and humor. Her more advanced classes are dynamic and provide just the right amount of challenge to have you finding new horizons. She offers students opportunities to unfold, to heal, and to tap into a deep well of resilience within. If you are lucky enough to be graced by her attention, you are sure to grow in ways you can only imagine.
In additon to teaching studio classes, Anne also trains teachers in all forms of yoga including vinyasa, restorative, pre-natal and kids yoga.
